About the Repository

The International Crops Research Institute for the Semi-Arid-Tropics (ICRISAT) is a non-profit, non-political organization that conducts agricultural research for development in Asia and sub-Saharan Africa with a wide array of partners throughout the world.

ESATCRIS:
ICRISAT Library (KSI-LIS) has an archive of about 25,000 reprints which hold literature relevant to crops mandated to ICRISAT. Considering the deteriorating and inaccessible condition of those reprints, LIS team has planned to gradually digitize and archive them in the infoSAT is a repository which will facilitate structured access to the digitized reprints. Apart from locally digitized reprints, relevant journal articles from open access journals, open access reports, and author-donated reprints will also be archived in the repository.

Essentially, infoSAT is a collaborative repository tool. LIS is one of the content contributors to the repository. All ICRISAT scientists/researchers/students can contribute to the repository by sharing and self-archiving the reprints which they have collected on their own effort. infoSAT will give structured access to those reprints and ensure preservation of all the reprints uploaded. Please contact library to obtain login credentials, if you want to upload your contents. Uploading is pretty easy, just requires a few keystrokes.

The prime beneficiaries of ESATCRIS are ICRISAT researchers and partners. While access to the full-text documents is restricted to ICRISAT researchers and partners, biblographic metadata of all documents in the repository is open to all possible would-be users.

This is purely a not-for-profit service to help ICRISAT researchers/partners who work on food security in semi-arid tropics of Asia and Sub-Saharan Africa .

infoSAT has been developed using EPrints - OAI-PMH based repsoitory software.
