Abstract
A study involving 36 genotypes comprising 28 hybrids and 8 parents of pigeon pea revealed higher magnitude of sca variance over gca variance for all the traits which indicated preponderance of non-additive gene action. The parents ICPL-87, GT-1 and ICPL-87119 were good general combiners for seed yield and its two or more component traits. Fifteen out of 28 hybrids showed significant positive sca effects for seed yield and its two or more component traits.
