Abstract
Crop canopies of maize (Zea mays L.) and sorghum (Sorghum bicolor L.) were observed to harvest rain water at the rate of 7-29 ml/mm rainfall. Influence of the crop growth stage, the amount of rainfall on biological water harvesting and its possible effect on intervening drought periods, are discussed
