Abstract

Grains of 18 strains of sorghum that have been shown to be the least susceptible to attack by Atherigona soccata Rond. in the field were tested in India for susceptibility to Ephestia cautella (Wlk.) during storage. The results of the studies, as expressed in terms of duration of development, adult emergence and growth rate of E. cautella, indicated that 2 varieties (IS 5804X23/2 and IS 1082) were less susceptible than the others. Two varieties highly susceptible to A. soccata that were tested at the same time were also highly susceptible to E. cautella
