Abstract

Perithecia carrying asci with mature ascospores were observed on millet stubble (Panicum miliaceum and Panicum sp.) and were identified as Gibberella zeae and Gibberella coronicola for the first time inWestern Australia. Morphological identification and molecular assays confirmed the presence of the anamorph Fusarium graminearum and Fusarium pseudograminearum respectively.
