Rama Krishna Ayyar (1940) and Wheatley (1961) recorded Rhopulosiphum maidis Fitch as a minor pest. Jotwani and Young (1972) recorded Rhopalosiphum maidis Fitch and Aphis saccihari Zehntner as pests on sorghum and maize. In two seasons, aphids were appearing in severe form in large areas in Maghi sorghum zone of Andhra Pradesh and yields are affected. Hence, survey for the incidencc of the pest was made at Millet Research Station, Madhira, Khammam district A.P.) and the following are the observations
