Abstract

Crop performance was studied over 7 yr under dryland conditions in the Solapur region. Cropping was more reliable in the dry than in the wet season. Pennisetum americanum and sorghum were the most productive crops in the wet and dry seasons, resp. It was considered that wheat should be replaced by chickpeas or safflower in the dry season
