Abstract

Inter-cropping system involves growing of two or more crops simultaneously with the assumption that different crops could exploit the soil reserves better than one. Although the yields of one or both crops in intercropping have been shown to be lower than their respective pure stands, yet the yields'of either crop as a monoculture and the net monetary return have been greater from intercropping. Total productivity and net monetary returns of inter-crop combination is the primary objective in recommending an inter-cropping system in sorghum
