Abstract

Trials with 20 crop rotations in 1975-9 showed that it is feasible and remunerative to grow 2 crops/yr instead of 1 crop/yr in the kharif [monsoon] or rabi [winter] season under rainfed conditions in central Uttar Pradesh. The more successful rotations included fodder sorghum/safflower or mustard, and black gram [Vigna mungo] or green gram [V. radiata]/safflower or mustard
