Abstract
In irrigated trials in the rabi [winter] seasons of 1968-70, effects of applications of 50-150 kg N, 25-75 kg P2O5 and 25-75 kg K2O/ha on DM accumulation by different plant parts of sorghum hybrid CSH-1 and cv. M.35-1 at different growth stages were determined. N was the most effective in increasing DM production by all plant parts at all growth stages, followed by P; K significantly increased it only in the panicle and the grain. Total DM production in the cv. was higher than in hybrid, but DM production in the panicles of the hybrid was higher than in cv. The harvest index of the hybrid and cv. was 39.2 and 30.6%, resp
