Abstract
Current information on the potential of grain sorghum as an irrigated crop at Emerald, central Queensland is reviewed including sowing date, row spacing, population, fertilizer application, irrigation requirements and ratooning. In trials sown in Sept. 1976 and Jan. 1978, the highest yielding cv. were Tropic (6.4 and 6.8 t grain/ha), Pacific 303 (6.3 and 6.4 t) and Dorado (6.0 and 6.9t) for the 2yr, resp.
