Abstract

In irrigated trials with sorghum hybrid CSH-1 given 120 kg N + 60 kg K2O/ha, grain yields with 90 kg P2O5/ha applied broadcast, placed 7.5 cm deep in soil below the seed or placed 7.5 cm deep and 5 cm away from the row were 3.56, 4.17 and 4.22 t/ha, resp., compared with 2.11 t without P. Application of P increased P contents and uptake by plants and grain + straw, but decreased straw yields
