Abstract

Increasing the N rate from 0 to 90 kg/ha increased grain yields of sorghum from 1.47 to 3.83 t/ha. The opt. N rate of 135 kg/ha with an expected yield of 4.29 t/ha was worked out from the following production function of quadratic type: y = 14.432 + 11.552 N - 1.16 N2, where y = predicted yield
