Abstract

Chickpea (Cicer arietinum L.) the second most important pulse crop world wide interms of area under cultivation after dry beans, but ranks third in production following dry beans and peas, productivity of about 881.9 kg ha-1. Despite its economic and considerable international investment in conventional breeding, productivity of the chickpea has not yet been significantly improved
