Abstract

In trials under dryland conditions in Karnataka, sorghum hybrid CSH-1 given 25 kg P2O5/ha showed linear response to the application of up to 50 kg N/ha, the highest rate tested, in the kharif [monsoon] season, indicating the scope to increase further the N rate. In the rabi [winter] season, 25 kg N + 25 kg P2O5/ha was the opt. fertilizer rate; application of N in 3 split dressings at sowing and as 2 foliar sprays at the knee-high stage was beneficial only under the recommended moisture conservation practices
