Abstract
Selection indexes involving 15 combinations of 6 characters were computed for 2 populations of soybeans. For a 1:.6 price ratio of oil to protein, the advances expected from selection based on oil and seed weight were 101 and 118% of those based on oil, protein, and yield in populations 1 and 2, respectively; and 84 and 95% of those based on all 6 characters.
