Abstract

Seeds of grain sorghum cv. Bravis BR were soaked in tap water for 24 h and then dried at room temp. until they reached their original wt. Crops grown from these seeds showed large increases in seed yield and number of seeds/panicle compared with untreated seeds or those given other soaking times or methods of drying, particularly under favourable growing conditions (fertilizer and irrigation). Treatment also increased the percentage and rapidity of seedling emergence
