Abstract
In trials with 11 sorghum cv. grown under 4 environments created by sowing them with and without NPK + plant protection measures in 2 yr, the genotype X environment interactions were significant and a large portion of them was accounted for by the linear regression of the individual genotypes on the environmental means. The non-linear component was small and not significant. Cv. Swarna, 604, SC. 411, 168 and 269 were more stable than other cv. with the least deviation around the regression line (Sb). Although CS.3541 was a promising cv. under very favourable conditions with the highest mean performance, it could not be considered stable since its Sb value was very high
