Abstract

Sorghum hybrid CSH-1 was given 0-200 kg N/ha at sowing or as 2-3 split dressings. N reduced the number of days to 50% flowering and increased the duration between flowering and grain maturation; time of N application had no effect. N increased grain yields from 2.73 t to 3.62-4.65 t/ha in 1970 and from 3.14 t to 3.48-4.31 t in 1971; N at 200 kg/ha gave the highest yields, but the opt. rate was 120-160 kg/ha
