Abstract

Experiments conducted under All India Co-ordinated Sorghum Improvement Project showed that short duration pulses such as, greengram and cowpea couid be profitably grown in between paired rows of sorghum (Anon., 1975). With a view to find out the feasibility of introducing pulses as inter crops in sorghum and to study the effect of inter crops in saving nitrogen applied to the base crop of sorghum, trials were laid out in farmers' fields in kharif, 1975, under irrigated conditions...
