Abstract
Eight hybrid varieties and two experimental hybrids were studied with their parental lines in the F1, F2 and F3 for seven characters including growth period, yield and yield components. Using the Mahalanobis D2 statistic, the total of 34 forms could be grouped into 12 clusters, of which six accounted for 28 forms. In the F2 and F3, hybrids tended to be grouped in the same cluster as their male parents, but in the F1 there was no pattern connecting hybrids to their parents
