Abstract
In trials in the kharif [monsoon] season in 1972, sorghum hybrid CSH-1 given 3 combinations of 60-120 kg N and 30-60 kg P2O5/ha and irrigated at the depletion of 50 or 75% soil moisture at a depth of 45 cm in soil or given no irrigation gave the highest yields of 4.94 t grain and 7.45 t fodder [stover]/ha with (a) 120 kg N + 60 kg P2O5/ha and 5 irrigations at the depletion of 50% soil moisture. In 1973, application of (a) gave the highest yields of 3 t grain and 7.56 t fodder/ha without irrigation because of the sufficient rainfall during the season
