Abstract

2 sorghum cv. grown in the rabi [winter] seasons of 1974-6 at a density of 45, 90, 135 and 180 thousand plants/ha in rows 45 or 90 cm apart gave grain yields of 1.5, 1.86, 2.37 and 2.15 t/ha, resp.; yields were higher in rows 90 cm apart (2.21 t) than in rows 45 cm apart (1.73 t). Cv. M-35-1 and R-16 gave yields of 2.3 and 1.64 t/ha, resp
