Abstract

To study the combined effect of lime and chemical fertilizer on yield and economics of groundnut grown in acid soils, an on farm trial was conducted during kharif 2009 and 2010 at the village Katadaganda in G.Udayagiri block of Kandhamal district in the North Eastern Ghat Zone of Odisha. The results of the on farm trial revealed that the maximum pod yield (1.579 and 1.761 t/ha) and highest net profit (Rs. 18560 and Rs. 20590/ha) were recorded under the treatment which received lime @ 5 q/ha and 100%NPK @ 20:40:40 kg N:P2O5:K2O per hectare during 2009 and 2010, respectively. This was followed by application of 20:40:40 kg N:P2O5:K2O, which resulted in pod yield of 1.256 and 1.356 t/ha and net profit of Rs.12010 and Rs.12790 during the respective years.
