Abstract
Genetic divergence was measured by D2 technique for 9 characters among 103 walnut accessions collected from Uttrakhand. The analysis of variance revealed significant differences among genotypes for each character under study. The genotypes were grouped into 7 clusters and maximum intra-cluster distance was observed in cluster I (15.39) comprising 94 genotypes followed by clusters II, IV, V, VI and VII which were identified as genetically divergent. The inter-cluster values was maximum between cluster II and VI (57.98) and clusters II and VII (55.11). Crossing between genotypes belonging to clusters II and VI as well as II and VII are expected to give maximum heterosis.
