Abstract
Helicotylenchus gratus n.sp. from soil around Sorghum vulgare resembles H. girus but differs by having a longer stylet, higher 'o' and 'm' values and a differently shaped lip region. H. ventroprojectus n.sp. from around roots of Dendrocalamus strictus resembles H. crenacauda but differs in having a different lip region, anteriorly indented surface of spear knobs, greater number of tail annules, deeper notch and less pronounced ventral projection. Macroposthonia crassiorbus n.sp. from around cotton differs from the closely related M. rusium in the serrated margins of the annules, and in having the first 2 annules anteriorly and outwardly directed. Basiria elegans n.sp. from the rhizosphere of paddy resembles B. graminophila but differs in having a more anteriorly located orifice of the dorsal oesophageal gland, longer posterior uterine branch, shorter spicule and more posteriorly located phasmids
