Abstract

In glasshouse trials, (a) lucerne and (b) Sudan grass were grown in sand culture at B conc. ranging from 0 to 30 p.p.m. The B content of both spp. increased with B supply. DM yields increased with 1 and 5 p.p.m. B for (a) and (b), resp., then decreased. B toxicity was characterized by leaf necrosis and reduced growth. B accumulation was higher in (a) than (b), but (b) was more tolerant of higher B levels
