Abstract

An experiment was carried out to find some suitable fungicides and plant extracts for management of Phytophthora blight disease. Seed treatment with ridomil MZ at 3 g/kg seed and spraying with ridomil MZ (0.3%) were found to be superior in reducing the seedling mortality as well as leaf and stem infection percentage and increase in the yield of pigeonpea. Among the leaf juice tested bel and dhatura juice were proved to be superior in controlling the disease but not as effective as fungicides used i.e. seed treatment with emisan 6+spraying with indofil M-45 in reducing the incidence percentage of seedling mortality, leaf and stem infection and also increasing the grain yield of pigeonpea.
