Abstract
Pigeonpea (Cajanus cajan) is an important grain legume crop in Uganda, especially in the northern and eastern parts. It is also grown to some extent in West Nile and Bunyoro, and in small quantities (usually on homesteads) in southern Uganda. Pigeonpea is the dominant legume crop in the districts of Gulu, Apac, Lira, and Ki tgum, where it is a major source of protein
