Abstract

Seeds of sorghum cv. L181 were germinated in the dark for 12, 18, 24, 36, 48, 54, 60 or 66 h. Opt. m.c. for germination was between 35 and 40%. Active germination and growth were assessed in terms of soluble carbohydrate and total starch in the seedling. Germination occurred between 15 and 30 deg C with an optimum at 22 deg
