Abstract

Trends in the cultivation of maize and sorghum for silage in the USA and UK are outlined and the nutritional value, recommended rations for dairy and beef cattle, and mechanization of handling of the silages are discussed. The possibility of integrating maize and sorghum silage into New Zealand agricultural production systems is considered
