Abstract

Two miniature mutants produced by 0.1% colchicine treatment of seeds from the homozygous line JL24 were shorter and had fewer pods and smaller seeds and leaflets than the parent plants. The mutants bred true, showing no variation in the M2. Pollen stainability was high and meiosis was normal (2n = 40). The segregation in the F2 of a backcross indicated that the miniature character was controlled by a single recessive gene....
