Abstract
The nitrogen distribution in whole kernels of the normal variety Redlan, the high-lysine varieties IS1178 and IS11167, and normal and high-lysine grains from the F2 of the cross Redlan X IS11758, is tabulated. The high-lysine kernels were 0-36% higher in protein and 56 to 79% higher in lysine than the normal kernels. The average distribution patterns of the high-lysine F2 kernels obtained from the cross Redlan X IS11758 were similar to the distribution patterns of the high-lysine varieties
