Abstract
The work of the Indian Grain Storage Institute is described. The aims of the Institute are: to investigate the nature and extent of losses in stored grains and pulses with a view to reducing these at the farm and commercial levels; to improve existing storage structures and develop new small-scale structures; to develop village level dryers; to train storage and extension workers in improved storage practices; and to demonstrate the improved grain storage techniques at village and commercial levels. The technical activities of the Institute are briefly outlined and a short section details the work of The Save Grain Campaign
