Abstract
Field-plot tests in Delhi, India, in 1967-70 on the effect of various treatments with phorate and disulfoton granules on the germination of sorghum seeds, and on the effectiveness of such treatments for the control of Atherigona soccata, Rond. showed that placing granules in direct contact with seeds greatly reduced germination, phorate being more harmful than disulfoton. Although side-dress applications did not adversely affect germination, this type of treatment did not give effective control of the pest. Placing phorate and disulfoton granules below seeds at rates of 1.5 and 3.0 g/m row, respectively, gave satisfactory control
