Abstract
Plant height increased and flowering was earlier with increasing N rate. Population pressure increased height but did not affect flowering. 1000 kernel weight increased with N rate but population effects were variable. Grain and fodder yields increased with N rate up to a level of 150 kg N/ha. The studies indicated that application of 150 kg N at a population level of 138,000 plants per hectare would be optimum for obtaining maximum yields with the Coordinated Sorghum Hybrid-1.
