Abstract

Data on systemic and local lesion infection were collected to estimate the incidence of Sclerospora sorghi on sorghum. A scale with 5 grades is proposed for scoring the leaf area affected by local lesions. A 5-stage scale is also suggested for identifying the stages of infection spots; this was supported by spore production estimates. Oospore production was observed only in the leaves of systemically infected plants
