Abstract

Inoculation of sorghum seed with A. chroococcum strain 41 significantly increased the fodder yield compared with uninoculated seeds or application of f.y.m., P or f.y.m. + N + P in the 1st pot experiment, but decreased it compared with application of P in the 2nd pot experiment. In another pot experiment with wheat given NP, seed inoculation with A. chroococcum increased grain yield by 56% compared with uninoculated seed. Seed inoculation with cellulose-decomposing bacteria + A. chroococcum decreased yields compared with seed inoculation with cellulose-decomposing bacteria alone. In another pot experiment and a field trial, seed inoculation with A. chroococcum strain 41 or K had no significant effect on yield
