Abstract

In field trials at Beirut, Lebanon growth of sorghum was significantly affected by irrigation frequency, the tallest plants being produced on plots irrigated at weekly intervals and the shortest on plots irrigated at 4-week intervals. Different rates of applied N (100, 200 or 300 lb/ac) had no significant effect on the growth curve, nor did the interaction between N rate and irrigation frequency. Length of internode and length and width of leaves increased significantly with increasing irrigation frequency, but N rates had no significant effect
