Abstract

In trials with sorghum cv. Co.18 given 90 kg N + 45 kg P2O5 + 45 kg K2O/ha and kept free of weeds with repeated hoeings and hand-weedings for up to 80 days after sowing, keeping the crop free of weeds for up to 30 days gave the highest values for leaf area, DM production/plant and grain yields; further increases in duration of the weed-free period decreased yields
