Abstract

Sorghum cv. Feterita was sown in field trials and periodically examined for surface and included fungal flora up to grain harvest. In comparison with the field soil, the rhizosphere contained greater numbers and different varieties of fungi, most of them being surface contaminants of the genera Aspergillus, Rhizopus, Mucor and Penicillium which are found as sorghum grain storage moulds. Curvularia spp. which was dominant in both rhizosphere and grain systemically infected grain during its development
