Abstract
A field trial was conducted to study the effect of different bioinoculants and their combination on growth and yield of pearl millet crop. The diazotropic bacteria viz. Azotobacter chroococcum , Azospirillum lifoferum, Acetobacter sp. and phosphate solubilizer Bacillus megaterium alone and in combination were treated to the pearl millet seeds. The observations recorded on various growth and yield parameters of the crop reveled that combined inoculation of these microorganisms was synergistic as compared to single culture inoculation . The combined inoculation treatment showed significant increases in all growth parameters under study and yield also. Thus the results proved the efficacy of these bioinoculants to enhance the growth and yield of pearl millet crop.
