Abstract

In trials under rain-fed conditions in Rajasthan with sorghum given 0-40 kg N/ha, seed inoculation with Azotobacter increased grain yields from 0.89 t/ha without Azotobacter to 1.04 t/ha (non-significant) and stover yields from 6.56 to 7.77 t/ha (significant). In trials with maize given 0-40 kg P205/ha, seed inoculation with phosphobacterine increased grain yields from 265 to 292 kg/ha and stover yields from 2.2 to 2.6 t/ha (both non-significant)
