Abstract

[126.317.2]Rapid tissue testing for NO3-N was useful for evaluating the N nutritional status of maize and sorghum. Colour readings should be made at the 35 to 40 day stage of growth using an average of 10 to 20 basal stem sections. An average colour reading of < 4 for maize and < 2 for sorghum indicates a potential N deficiency
