Abstract

In field trials in 1964-73, double-cropping barley cv. Tokak, Keowee and Schuyler with sorghum cv. RS 626 increased grain yields of barley and sorghum by 52% and 27%, respectively, compared with yields obtained from continuous cropping. Increasing N to 300 lb/ac only marginally increased grain yields. Applications of 4 lb Zn/ac increased yields of continuously-cropped sorghum by 10%, but had no effect on continuous barley or double-cropped barley and sorghum
