Abstract
In a two year field experiment soya beans, groundnut and mung were intercropped with sorghum which was planted in single rows 45 cm apart or in paired rows 30 cm apart with a 60 cm space. Sorghum gave higher grain yields from double rows in the first year but not in the second year. Intercropping reduced yields in both years but the reductions were significant in the first year only
