Abstract

In feeding trials using 6 rams, the average digestibility coefficients of 60-day-old herbage of the sorghum x Sudan grass cv. Sweet Sudan 59-3 were: DM 62.91%, CP 61.72%, ether extract 29.95%, CF 74.96%, and NFE 61.34%; the herbage contained 92.24% DM, 6.90% CP, 1.18% ether extract, 32.15% CF, 48.9% NFE, 10.88% ash, 0.74% Ca and 0.1% P. DCP, TDN, SE and the nutritive ratio were 4.25%, 58.86%, 44.91 and 1.13, respectively. The hybrid was considered to be good maintenance fodder
