Abstract
A spontaneous mutant with imparipinnate leaves (four leaflets of normal size and the fifth, terminal, leaflet smaller than normal) was isolated from the F3 of the cross TG16 X TG17. The character was controlled by a single recessive gene. The growth, branching and flowering of the mutants resembled those of TG16; the height and the thick stems and branches of the mutants resembled those of TG17. The pod set and yield of the mutants were lower than in the parents. The mutants bred true in succeeding generations.
