Abstract
Five aerial pod bearing peanut plants were selected from a population of Brazilian Valencia peanut variety ‘Tatu’ and evaluated together with the parent in the suceeding seed generation. All the five selections bred true to the character selected for and differed significantly from the parent exhibiting a large proportion of aerial pods with seeds. The use of aereal pod bearing attribute is discussed with reference to peanut breeding.
