Abstract
CSH-8R, a promising rabi hybrid has been recommended for rabi (winter) season since 1976-77 and becoming popular with cultivators of Maharashtra, Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh. A pilot demonstration plot on an area of one acre was maintained at Sorghum Research Station, Marathwada Agricultural University, Parbhani during 1978-79 rabi season under rainfed conditions. The sowing was done on 22-9-1979 after harvest of a preceding mung crop tota1 rainfall received before sowing (rainy season) was 638.6 mm and during crop growth was 136.4 mm. In order to examine in detail the cost structure of hybrid jowar cultivation during rabi cost 'A' and coat 'B' were calculated and presented in Table 1.
